“If I like a photograph, if it disturbs me, I linger over it. What am I doing, during the whole time I remain with it? I look at it, I scrutinise it, as if I wanted to know more about the thing or the person it represents.” – Roland Barthes
Fusion is a collaborative experiment that records memories and emotions evoked from the observation of photographs. In order to increase the time spent in front of each image, photographs are frozen in ice blocks and observed while they melt. During the fusion process, while the image gradually becomes apparent, I invite collaborators to observe the process and take notes on their memories and emotions evoked by the photographs.
